Description

This 2015 All-America Selection winner is one of the new inter-specific Dianthus hybrids, meaning that it has been bred from more than one type of Dianthus in order to get the best of many worlds: color, vigor, and heat tolerance. You are going to love the results! This is a vigorous, well-branched plant, reaching 40 to 50 cm (16 to 20 in) high (gigantic by most gardener standards!) and 30 to 35 cm (12 to 14 in) wide. It is mounded and upright, very showy, and while it makes a lovely container subject, it holds its own in the annual bed just fine, too.

Planting Instructions

Start seed 6 to 8 weeks before date of transplanting out in the garden. Cover seed with 6mm (1/4 in) of light loamy soil. Soil temperature should be 21 C (70 F). Seed should germinate in 7 to 15 days. Reduce temperature to near 12 C (55 F) after the seed sprouts for best results. Fertilize every 2 weeks with 10-52-17 and liquid seaweed for strong healthy plants. Garden spacing 25 cm (10 in) apart.
