Description

Multiple stems with early large flowers make this Geranium irresistible! Ht 35-40 cm (13-15 in).

Planting Instructions

Start 10 to 14 weeks prior to transplanting outdoors. Cover seed with 6mm (1/4 in) of light loamy soil. Soil temperature is critical. A 24 C (75 F) soil temperature must be maintained. Use bottom heat, if you don’t air temperature must be a constant 29 C (85 F). Maintain uniform moisture during germination, misting is ideal. Germination is normally rapid, most will be up in 7 to 10 days. After 2 to 3 weeks transplant to 10 cm (4 in) containers. Seedlings should be grown at 17 C (62 F) night temperatures to assure stocky plants.

Sprouting Seeds: For quick and easy germination you may sprout Geranium seed between two moist paper towel. Place them in a plastic bag for 2 to 4 days. Once seed has sprouted remove and cover lightly with loamy soil. Keep under lights 24 hours a day for first 3 to 4 days or until the first real leaves show. After that, cut back light to 16 hours a day. Garden spacing 35 cm (14 in) apart.

Pelleted Seed not dissolving?

The pellets are not moist enough. They should be misted with warmish water several times a day and you will soon see the pellet begin to break up. At that point, misting won’t be so critical.

The pellet material is permeable and water will be absorbed into it, causing it to swell and crumble.
