Description
Broad, frilly, dark purple leaves grow on 90cm-1 m (2-3′) tall, upright stalks. An open-pollinated variety that is very slow to bolt. Scarlet has great flavour either as baby leaf or mature kale, and the flavour improves (along with the colour) after frost. This is a handsome ornamental and a very edible kale to try in your vegetable garden.
