Sweet potatoes are grown from slips, which are rooted cuttings rather than tubers. They ship live and actively growing, which makes them the last of our spring stock to leave the farm and the one item that needs to go in the ground within a day or two of arriving.
This tier covers our Covington sweet potato slips, available as a single plant or as a full bundle. Covington is an orange-fleshed variety with good storage and a maturity window short enough to finish in a prairie season.
We expect that all orders for sweet potatoes will ship by May at the latest, weather permitting. Because slips are perishable and cannot be held in storage, they ship on their own once the risk of frost has passed in your zone. If your order includes items from other tiers, those items will ship separately on their own schedule rather than waiting for your sweet potatoes.
