STORAGE & PLANTING

Storage: Keep lilies cool and wrapped in the refrigerator until planting. Do not let the scales dry out, as this weakens the bulbs.

Soil: Lilies thrive in deep, humus-rich, well-drained soil.

Planting Depth: Plant bulbs 8 in. deep for a strong root system. Deep planting also eliminates the need to dig them up in fall.

HOW TO PLANT

  • Place bulbs pointy side up in the hole
  • Fill the hole with soil and tamp gently
  • Water well in fall to ensure proper freeze-up

CARE & MAINTENANCE

Fertilizing: Apply Rose & Strawberry 10-52-17 (item #3256) three times per season:

  • At the start of new growth
  • When buds form
  • After blooming finishes

Sunlight: Lilies prefer full sun but will tolerate partial shade.

Watering: Water is essential during growth. Soak at least once a week, increasing during hot, dry weather.

WINTER PREPARATION

Cut off stems and gather leaves before winter.

WHEN DO LILIES BLOOM?

Lilies bloom from early summer to fall, depending on the variety. By planting a mix of early, mid-season, and late-blooming lilies, you can enjoy stunning flowers from spring until first frost.

Lilies are perfect for both formal and natural gardens, grow well in containers, and make excellent cut flowers!
