Wegen ihres außergewöhnlichen Nährwerts werden sie als "Superbeeren" der Natur bezeichnet. Sie haben eine ähnliche Größe wie Heidelbeeren und eine tiefviolette Farbe. Die gesundheitlichen Vorteile beruhen auf ihrem sehr hohen Gehalt an Anthocyanen und Flavonoiden. Dreimal so viele Antioxidantien wie Heidelbeeren und fünf- bis zehnmal so viel wie Cranberrys, mit nützlichen Nährstoffen wie Antioxidantien, Polyphenolen, Mineralien und Vitaminen. Sie sind auch dafür bekannt, die Durchblutung zu verbessern, die Blutgefäße zu stärken, den Blutdruck auf einem normalen Niveau zu halten und das Risiko von Herzkrankheiten zu verringern. Es wurde auch nachgewiesen, dass sie bei der Behandlung von Magenproblemen, einschließlich Magengeschwüren und Durchfall, helfen. Sie dienen auch als krebshemmendes Mittel. Die Wirkung der Beeren auf Krebs ist als eher wirksam bekannt, insbesondere für diejenigen, die an Darmkrebs leiden. Viking ist die produktivste Sorte der Apfelbeere und liefert bis zu 5 Tonnen pro Hektar. Diese leicht anzubauende einheimische Pflanze ist mit schwarzen Beeren beladen, die im Spätsommer reifen und den ganzen Winter über am Strauch hängen können. Die Beeren sind sehr reich an Antioxidantien und eignen sich hervorragend für Wein, Säfte, Marmelade, zum Backen und vieles mehr. Der sehr dekorative Strauch zeichnet sich durch duftende, weiße Blüten und glänzendes grünes Laub aus. Wächst 5 Fuß hoch bei voller Sonne bis Halbschatten.

Sadly, my Viking Aronia bare root never leafed out. I planted out the next day received (an overcast day), followed the instructions and it seems dead. All other bare root berry bushes I received from other vendors are flourishing and doing well. I don't know if this is normal with Aronia.

Aronia can sometimes be slower to break dormancy than other bare root shrubs, and the timing can vary depending on weather, soil temperatures, and growing conditions. While it is not uncommon for some plants to take longer to establish, we understand your concern, especially when your other bare root plants are already growing well.
