Kunden haben jahrelang eine robuste Brombeere angefragt, und jetzt haben wir sie! „Chester“ bildet riesige, bogige Ranken und erstaunlich große, tiefschwarze, sehr süße Beeren. Ideal frisch gegessen oder zu Konfitüren und Brombeerwein verarbeitet oder einfach für den späteren Gebrauch eingefroren. Sehr kräftige Pflanze, die problemlos 1,8-2,7 m hoch wird, daher ist Platz unerlässlich! Die Früchte beginnen Ende August zu reifen und halten sich über mehrere Wochen. Ziehen Sie Chester an einem Spalier oder entlang eines Zauns, wo sich die selbsttragenden Stämme selbst tragen und Ihnen ihre reiche Ernte bieten!
Bevorzugt volle Sonne und einen feuchten, nährstoffreichen Boden. In Reihen pflanzen, die Pflanzen mindestens 1,8 m auseinander setzen und nach Möglichkeit mit Stützen, Pfählen oder Spalieren versehen. Sie wachsen sehr kräftig und erreichen problemlos eine Höhe von bis zu 3 m.

I’ve bought twice & they grow well off of the start but by the end of July they all slowly die from the root regardless of watering & fertilizing. Won’t try again

It is certainly disappointing to have the plants establish and grow well initially, only to have them decline later in the season. While watering and fertilizing are important, there can be other factors that contribute to this type of decline, including soil drainage, root or crown issues, and environmental stress.
