Fig 'C's Red' is a Mediterranean heirloom that produces fruit slightly bigger than a golf ball. The reddish-brown skin hides deep red flesh with a sweet, berry-like flavour.
The figs resist cracking in rain, so more of your harvest makes it to the table. Enjoy them fresh, dried or in baking.
Figs aren't hardy on the Prairies, so grow it in a large container. Move it outdoors in full sun for summer, then into a cool garage or basement for winter.
