Eine lange, spitz zulaufende Wurzel, die in der Küche als Gewürz verwendet wird. Die Wurzel hat einen starken, scharfen und beißenden Geschmack, der sich nur nach dem Erleben ihres einzigartigen Geschmacks beschreiben lässt! Die Wurzeln werden im Spätherbst geerntet und dann geschält und gemahlen, bevor sie als pfeffriges Gewürz genossen werden.
Meerrettich kann invasiv sein, daher sollten Sie ihn in Ihrem Garten isolieren.
Pflanzanleitung
Meerrettich gedeiht in voller Sonne, verträgt aber leichten Schatten. Was den Boden betrifft, so kommt Meerrettich mit fast allem zurecht, außer mit ständig durchnässten Bedingungen. Wählen Sie für Ihren Meerrettich einen abgelegenen Standort, da Sie diese Staude, einmal gepflanzt, nicht mehr umpflanzen möchten. Lockern Sie den Boden bis zu 30 cm tief und fügen Sie eine Schaufel Kompost hinzu. Pflanzen Sie den Wurzelsteckling in einem 45°-Winkel, wobei die Spitze des Stecklings 5 cm unter der Erdoberfläche liegen sollte. Eine Pflanze ist normalerweise genug für eine Familie. Wenn Sie Meerrettich so sehr lieben, dass Sie mehr als eine Pflanze benötigen, pflanzen Sie sie in einem Abstand von 75 cm. Um zu verhindern, dass die Pflanze unansehnlich wird, gießen Sie sie während Trockenperioden einmal pro Woche und verwenden Sie eine mehrere Zentimeter dicke Mulchschicht um die Pflanze, um die Feuchtigkeit zu speichern.`

I received dead sticks. They never broke the dormancy.
Hi Natacha, thank you for letting us know — we're truly sorry the plants didn't break dormancy for you. Bare-root stock can look like dead sticks on arrival, which is completely normal, but they absolutely should leaf out given the right conditions.

They did nothing in the ground

Horseradish roots can sometimes appear dry after shipping, but this is normal for dormant rootstock and does not necessarily indicate that they are no longer viable. Once planted, they often require several weeks of consistent moisture before new growth appears.
