Kalettes 'Autumn Star' is a cross of kale and Brussels sprouts. It forms small, frilly rosettes about 2 in. across up the stem, in purple and green.
The flavour is sweet and nutty and gets even better after a frost. Roast, sauté or enjoy them raw. Autumn Star is the earliest of the Kalettes, ready about 110 days from transplant and harvested into late fall.
Start indoors 4 to 6 weeks before last frost and transplant in late May to mid-June. Space plants 18 to 24 in. apart in full sun.
Days to Maturity: 110 from transplant Exposure: Full Sun to Part Shade Start Indoors: 4-6 weeks before last frost Spacing: 18-24 in.
