The intricate design of the flame shows little flowers bound tightly together to resemble a flame shaped flower. Celosia will bloom through spring, summer and right into the beginning of fall. Ht 25-35 cm (10-14 in).
Planting Instructions
Sow seed as soon as soil can be worked. Cover seed very lightly and keep the soil moist until all seedlings appear. For earlier flowers start seed indoors 6 weeks before date of transplanting out in the garden. Soil temperature should be 21 C (70 F). Seed should germinate in 7 to 10 days. Reduce temperature to near 12 C (58 F) after they sprout for best results. These plants prefer full sun and somewhat alkaline soil. Wet soggy locations should be avoided. Fertilize every 2 weeks with 10-52-17 and liquid seaweed for strong healthy plants. Garden spacing 60 cm (24 in) apart.
