A classic and versatile hot pepper with the perfect balance of heat and flavour! Jalapeños produce pungent, thick-walled, juicy dark green fruit about 3 in. long and 1 in. wide, each with a blunt, traditional jalapeño shape. They’re excellent fresh, perfect for poppers, and a staple for adding heat to salsas, sauces, and marinades.
Harvest green for fresh eating, pickling, and cooking. Allow peppers to ripen red if you want to dry them, dried and smoked jalapeños are known as chipotle, prized for their deep, smoky flavour.

Planting Instructions
Start seed indoors 6-8 weeks before transplanting out to the garden. Cover seeds with 1/4 in. of soil. Firm soil over seed. Keep moist but not waterlogged. To germinate maintain a soil temperature of 22°C. Seed should germinate in 10-14 days. Once seeds have sprouted, 14-16 hours of light per day is essential. Once plants have reached 5 in. transplant to 3 in. peat pots. Plants will develop better with a growing temperature of 17°C until transplanting out.
Pro Tip: Fertilize weekly with Liquid Seaweed Fertilizer for strong root development. Do not transplant out till night temperatures are warm.
