Lychnis 'Orange Gnome' is a compact perennial with bold colour from flower to leaf. Brilliant orange-scarlet flowers, about 1½" across, bloom in abundance starting in early summer and keep going for nearly 8 weeks.
The foliage is almost as eye-catching as the flowers. A purplish-bronze cast covers the dark green leaves and makes the orange blooms stand out even more.
After flowering, swollen seed pods add interest later in the season. Its compact size makes it a good fit for the front of the border or a sunny container.
