Apple Solar Mac
Solar Mac is a hardy Prairie selection with classic McIntosh-style flavour, light, tangy, crisp, and wonderfully juicy. Excellent for fresh eating, pies, sauces, baking, and even cider, this variety brings the traditional Mac taste to northern growers in a reliable, productive tree.
Solar Mac produces medium-sized apples with clean white flesh and a refreshing crunch. The fruit ripens in mid-September, offering a dependable late-season harvest.
Because it is not self-fertile, Solar Mac requires a pollinator. Honeycrisp is an excellent partner, as are most mid-season apple varieties.
