September Ruby was bred at Morden and released in 1986. Its light green skin is striped and blushed with bright red, and the crisp flesh is moderately tart.
Apples ripen in early to mid-September and keep for up to 4 months. Very good fresh and excellent for juice and cooking. It bears every year and is moderately resistant to fireblight.
This very hardy, naturally semi-dwarf tree needs another apple variety nearby for pollination.
