Catnip
Not just for cats, this aromatic herb has a long history of use in food and traditional remedies, whether used fresh or dried. Catnip is also well known for its ability to repel mosquitoes, as the essential oil it contains has been shown to be more effective at deterring these pests than DEET, the active ingredient found in many commercial insect repellents.
