Dwarf Apple Goodland - 7997A

One of the best apple varieties for colder Prairie regions, Goodland is known for its crisp, juicy, tender, and wonderfully aromatic flesh. It’s excellent for fresh eating and also stores well, though its flavour truly shines when enjoyed right off the tree.

Developed at the Morden Research Station, this reliable early-season apple ripens in August, making it a great choice for gardeners who want fruit before fall. The dwarf form keeps the tree compact and manageable, ideal for small yards, urban gardens, or easy picking.

So far the trees are growing well. They even had flowers. Hopefully next year there will be apples. Very pleased!!

Even though this rootstock was purchased at the same time as another variety of apple tree rootstock, unfortunately this one did not survive. It was treated exactly the same as the other one, but where 1 tree broke dormancy while sitting in water for a day, this one never did leaf. Disappointing as we had this variety of apple tree at our previous address for many years and it produced wonderful apples for eating and baking pies!
