Especially bred for our northern climate, this trees parent was out of Skinners Nursery in Dropmore, Manitoba. Small in size but very big in production, these nicely shaped trees yield enormous crops of easy-to-crack nuts in a hurry. Also known as "Filberts". Mature height 9 ft. Bush.

Plant arrived in good condition and grew well.
Unfortunately, this bare-root whip never broke dormancy and never grew at all despite having the best seasin for regular rainfall, EVER, in Calgary, and supplemental watering as directed
when needed. So disappointed, as my other hazelbert is waist high, and very happy. I will be needing to contact you soon .

These poor trees are struggling to grow. It's not from lack of water!
Young bare root trees can take some time to become established as they focus on developing a strong root system before putting on significant top growth. Even with consistent watering, factors such as transplant shock, soil conditions, and weather can affect their growth during the first season.
Tree died within a couple of weeks

Bare root Hazelbert plants can experience transplant stress as they establish, and while many leaf out within several weeks, some may take up to 10 weeks to break dormancy depending on weather and growing conditions.
If your plant declined within a couple of weeks of planting and you have not already submitted a warranty claim, we'd be happy to review it. Please email garden@ttseeds.com with your order number, the planting date, clear photos of the plant and planting area, and details about how it has been cared for since planting. Photos are required for all warranty claims.
