Any size of jiffy strip is excellent. The plants love them. I do have to water more often than with axplastic container of same size, but the plant inside the jiffy strip can breathe, so they've been frisking.

I've been using the Jiff strips for a few years and they are great for starting my tomatoes and cucumbers. I use them with the 3021 no hole plastic trays and clear plastic domes and the T&T starter mix. I place the trays on my heated, ceramic bathroom floor and I have 100% germination in less than one week.
