Size: Mature plants reach about 12 to 18 in. tall and 12 in. wide, with tightly packed, crisp leaves.

Planting tips: Sow seeds outdoors as soon as weather and soil conditions permit, lightly covering them with soil at a depth of about 0.25 in. Space seeds about 6 to 7 per 1 ft. of row. Planting in average garden soil with good drainage will yield abundant lettuce, and thin seedlings to 8 in. apart when they reach 2 in. high. Successive sowing every 10 to 14 days allows for a continuous harvest throughout the summer.
Harvest tips: Harvest heads when they are firm and full-sized, cutting at the base for the best flavour and texture.
