Fig 'Magnolia' produces some of the largest figs around, up to 3" across. Bronze skin surrounds sweet pink to amber flesh. Big, glossy, lobed leaves give it a lush, tropical look.
It's self-fertile, so one plant will fruit. The figs are excellent for preserving and canning, and also good fresh or dried. Pick them as soon as they ripen.
Figs aren't hardy on the Prairies, so grow it in a large container. Move it outdoors in full sun for summer, then into a cool garage or basement for winter.
