Beautiful five-pointed pods emerge deep red when young, fading to lighter red or pink as they mature, and turning light green when cooked. Fast maturing with a mid- to late-summer harvest, this striking variety also produces attractive pink-tinted edible flowers. Okra pods, leaves, and flowers are all edible, and the seeds can be roasted and ground as a coffee substitute, making this plant both ornamental and highly useful.

Mature Height:
4–6 ft

Spread:
18–24 in

Suitable Planting Locations:
Ideal for vegetable and herb gardens, raised beds, and garden beds in full sun with warm, well-drained soil.

Planting Tip:
Most herbs and warm-season crops prefer a sunny location with well-drained soil that is not too wet. Aim to plant where they receive at least 5 hours of direct sunlight each day. They grow best in light, fertile soil enriched with organic matter and a moderate amount of fertilizer.

These okra look good, are larger than most and are easier to find on the plant with their rich bronzy color.
