Parsnip Hollow Crown (110 Days) - 1575A

'Hollow Crown' is a reliable heirloom parsnip variety known for its long, smooth roots that reach up to 12-14 in. It offers a sweet, nutty flavor that improves after exposure to frost, making it ideal for roasting and stews.

Planting Instructions: Sow seeds in early spring, directly into well-drained soil. Space seeds 1/2 in. deep and rows 18 in. apart. Keep the soil moist as germination may take up to three weeks. Thin seedlings to 4-6 inches apart. Harvest after the first frost for the sweetest flavour.

It’s growing sparse and slow definitely the weather has affected it

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your Hollow Crown Parsnips are growing slowly.

You're right that this season's weather has had an impact in many areas. Cool temperatures and frequent rainfall can slow both germination and early growth of parsnips. As the weather warms and conditions improve, they often begin to put on more vigorous growth.

We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope your parsnips continue to develop well throughout the remainder of the growing season.
