Northline is a very hardy saskatoon released by the Beaverlodge Research Station in Alberta. It produces large berries with a rich, sweet-tart flavour in heavy clusters.
Berries ripen together in mid-July, which makes picking easy. It's a favourite for U-picks and commercial growers.
It's self-fertile, but yields more with another saskatoon nearby. Plants start fruiting in 3 to 5 years.
