Thiessen is a classic Saskatchewan saskatoon, found near Hepburn and introduced in 1976. It produces large, sweet and tangy berries, considered among the sweetest of any saskatoon.
Berries ripen in July over a longer period, which is ideal for home gardens with fresh fruit for weeks. It blooms early, so plant it where late frost is less likely.
Enjoy the fruit fresh or in pies, jams and desserts. Self-fertile.
