Squash Honey Bear (100 Days)

Squash Honey Bear (100 Days) - 2165A

Honey Bear Acorn Squash was bred to be baked and served in the half shell. The"honey" in Honey Bear refers to the sweet squash flavor when cooked. In addition to flavor, this squash has three outstanding qualities: its compact plant, high yield, and tolerance to powdery mildew. The bushy, compact plant will reach 3ft. tall and spread 5ft. without vines. The dark green acorn squash weighs about a pound, which is a perfect size for sharing between two people. The plant produces 3-5 fruit per bush. Honey Bear continues to bear fruit throughout the growing season.

Planting Instructions
Squash plants are frost tender and must be planted when danger of frost is past. For earlier fruit, plant in 3 in. jiffy pots or strips 3-4 weeks prior to intended date of transplanting to the garden. Plant the seed 1.5 in. deep and keep the soil warm, 22°C. Space plants in the garden 3ft. apart. Fertilize with 10-52-17 and liquid seaweed for strong healthy plants.
