Canada’s #1 selling cherry tree, and for good reason! Evan’s Cherry is an extra-hardy, natural dwarf tree that reaches 10-12ft. at maturity. In early spring, it’s covered in masses of white blossoms, followed by large, flavourful cherries (about 1½ in. in diameter). Excellent for baking, jams, wine, and fresh eating.
Evan’s cherries become sweeter and darker the longer they are left on the tree, making harvest time flexible and flavour-packed. By mid-summer, expect a very good yield from this consistently reliable variety. The foliage also brings seasonal beauty, turning a warm yellow-orange in fall.
While self-pollinating, even better production occurs when two varieties are planted together.
Mature Height: 10-12ft.
Flowering: Early spring
Harvest: Mid-summer
Pollination: Self-pollinating (best results with two varieties)
A hardy, productive Prairie favourite that delivers top-quality fruit and year-round interest.

Ordered 2. One was in good shape and I planted it out - it's doing great. The other was almost dead, so I potted it up and kept it in my plant shelter until it recovered. I just planted it out a few days ago and will hope for the best. The problem with very small plants is that they are hard to protect through the winter.
