Romeo Cherry

Romeo Cherry - 8058A

Another fantastic release from the University of Saskatchewan’s Romance series, Romeo produces rich, dark red to nearly black cherries with outstanding flavour. Similar to Carmine Jewel but ripening slightly later, it’s excellent for fresh eating, baking, preserving, and is considered one of the best varieties for juice production thanks to its deep colour and full flavour.

Romeo is a true dwarf cherry with a compact, bush-like habit, reaching about 7ft. at maturity. It does not sucker, making it a clean, easy-care addition to any home orchard. Heavy spring blooms lead to abundant summer harvests. While self-pollinating, you’ll see even better yields when planting two varieties together.

Mature Height: ~7ft.
Growth Habit: Compact, dwarf, non-suckering
Pollination: Self-pollinating (improved yields with another variety)
Ripening: Slightly later than Carmine Jewel

Cherries are naturally rich in antioxidants, a delicious bonus to their versatility in the kitchen.

A hardy, compact, and flavour-packed choice for Prairie gardeners wanting reliable production and easy maintenance.
