An “Imperator type”! Great for cut & peel, with 25 cm (10 in) cylindrical roots with semi-blunt tips. Medium orange in colour with healthy, dark green tops. Triton is known for it superb taste and texture making it excellent for Market Garden sales and perfect for the home garden. A real winner!
Seed outdoors as soon as weather and soil conditions permit. Cover seed lightly with soil, 6 to 7 seeds per 30 cm (1 ft) of row. Average garden soil and a sunny location is ideal. Carrots germinate in 7 to 14 days. Keep soil moist until all seed has germinated, do not allow soil to crust. As Carrot seed is very fine it can cook on extreme hot days. The garden blanket is ideal as an aid speed-up germination. Thin to 3 cm (1 1/2 in) apart when plants are 6 cm (3 in) high. Approximately 900 seeds per gram.
