Planting Instructions

Keep lilies cool and wrapped in refrigerator until they are planted in the garden. Lilies are seriously weakened if the scales become dried and withered. A deep, humus, well drained soil is preferred by lilies. These plants are hardiest if planted deeply, 20 cm (8 in) deep in well prepared soil. Deep planting will result in a much stronger root system and your lilies will not have to be dug up in the fall. Make sure they are well watered in the fall to ensure proper freeze-up. Give them a feed of T & T Rose & Strawberry Fertilizer (10-52-17) at the start of new growth, again when buds form and once again after the blooms have finished. Lilies prefer full sun but will grow in partial shade. Water is essential during the growth period. Soak at least once a week or more during hot, dry weather. Cut off stems and gather leaves before winter.
