An amazingly versatile series that tolerates both heat and cold. Withstanding light frost, it is perfect for both spring and fall gardens. Huge, 6 cm (2 1/2 in) daisy-like blooms have shimmering white or purple petals beautifully offset the intriguing blue centers. Mature plant 50 cm (20 in).

Planting Instructions

Start seed 6 to 8 weeks prior to intended date of transplanting outside. Lightly cover seeds, provide light and germinate at 18-21°C (65-70°F). Seed should sprout within 10-15 days. Transplant outside after last frost date, although Osteospermum is somewhat cold tolerant. Well-drained soil is required. If you have heavy clay soil, plants will perform well in pots of soil-less mix. Generally pest free and drought tolerant, though it prefers cool summers.Fertilize every 2 weeks with 10-52-17 and liquid seaweed for strong healthy plants. Garden spacing 50 cm (20 in) apart.
