Description

Will grow and yield well even in cool cloudy conditions! You will enjoy multiple, perfectly round Watermelons with a beautiful dark green rind and deep red flesh. Flesh is extremely tasty and holds well (does not over ripen) if you can’t harvest them right away. Each 22 cm (9 in) fruit will weigh about 5 kg (11 lbs) at maturity. A smaller seed cavity means you almost get the look of a seedless Watermelon but the superior taste of a seeded Watermelon.

Planting Instructions

To grow watermelon start them 2 to 3 weeks ahead of transplanting them in the garden. Plant 2 to 3 seeds in a 5 cm (2 in) peat pots. Keep pots warm 21 C (70 F). They will germinate in 7 – 10 days. Plant in the garden when danger of frost has passed. Make sure peat pots are wet when transplanting. Fertilize for the first 3 weeks with our Rose & Strawberry 10-52-17 formula. They yield best in lighter soils. If your soil is heavy work in lots of organic matter in the area before transplanting. For extra protection cover your melon crops with our Garden Blanket.
