2,000 to 5,000 Scoville units. Pungent, thick-walled and juicy dark green peppers that are 8 cm (3 in) long and about 2 cm(1 in) wide with a blunt end. Great fresh and used for poppers. Use green peppers for fresh eating, pickling, and sauces. Dry the red ones. Dried, smoked jalapenos are known as chipotle.
